Beverage Processing
Specific Application Information
DOWEX™ ion exchange and adsorbent resins are successfully used to partially purify or enhance a beverage or food process stream by controlling acidity, color, odor, salt content, flavor, shelf life, or a combination of these characteristics. They can also be used to isolate and purify specific food additives, like aminio acids, (MSG, L-lysine, etc.), flavor components like nucleosides or color components. As a potential starting point for approaching a beverage or food application we suggest reviewing the summary on Strategies in Selecting a Resin for a Juice, Beverage, or Food Application (16KB PDF) for more details.
Dow offers a wide selection of DOWEX resins many of which set industry standards, that meet ISO 9002 Certification Manufacturing Standards, FDA 21CFR173.25 Food Contacting Regulations, and Kosher. The entire DOWEX product line offers durability under various operating conditions, the highest operating capacity and consistency. DOWEX resins also reduce operating costs.
Note: In some circumstances in the United States, resins may require a cross regeneration before being placed into service as FDA 21CFR173.25 readied materials.
